Auction Spotlight #1

Starting something new: a weekly look at one recent auction item, for perusal and discussion. I’ll be posting art auctions and Walt will be posting comic book auctions.

Women Of DC Comics Style Guide by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, 1982, sold for $3,791.46. Source.

Garcia-Lopez literally wrote the book on the official look of DC characters for their 1982 style guide, and this piece is an amazing example of what he could do. These are highly sought after because of the definitive look and clean lines.

Advantage Buyer. It’s a limited pool of material, and they aren’t coming to market that often.

Great piece. Wish it were mine but I must admit Hake’s auctions don’t hit my radar.
