Any bets on opening weekend? As the summers anchor, I’m going to predict it will do just as well as Thor… somewhere between $65 and $70… maybe even a little better. I’m speculating that the release date is part of a grand plan from the studios and that fanboys will pile on in a lemming like frenzy.
(I know Conan follows but this looks like standard fair and doesn’t seem to have the push from the studios…)
I say it will come in about where Thor came in.
I think Marvel could have went a bit further in their tie ins to Avengers. Watching what seems like 2 hours of credits roll by for what seems like 20 seconds of Avengers teaser isn’t enough for me.
There should be an obvious Avengers thread within all these movies.
Sucker everybody in like they to with Civil War, Fear Itself etc.
I am looking forward to Conan though!!
I think it will be Marvel’s big movie for 2011. People know Captain America without reading a comic, plus it has Nazis!
