Comic Book Links For Tuesday December 15th

It’s been a pretty busy weekend here at Comic Book Daily Head Quarters, we’ve been scouring the interwebs looking for fun links to get your through the usual Tuesday blahs. As always if you come across an interesting link or article that we may have missed, please by all means e-mail Pete DeCourcy – he needs all the help he can get.

  • one of my favourite bloggers/web comic writer Kevin Church details his encounter with a comic book retailer and the ensuing twitter back and forth they had. It’s a pretty petty discussion, but if you enjoy that sort of thing – have at it. [it’s all fat jokes and he-said-he-sad.]
  • Alan Moore discusses his new “underground” magazine Dodgem Logic, which is funded in part by sales of Watchmen: “After that wretched film, Watchmen is now selling everywhere, and much as I’m sure it pains them, that means they have to send me huge cheques every three months. I’ve got enough to cover my needs and I’d probably feel guilty if I wasn’t doing something for the area I’ve come from.”
  • The Mighty God King [a Toronto national treasure] details why he believes the  answer to better superhero comics be found in “The Dark Phoenix Saga.”
  • By way of introducing the New Comic Journal website, Gary Groth offers a brief history of comics criticism.
  • According to Johanna Draper Carlson, DragonCon organizers have allegedly gone out of their way to inconvenience Least I Could Do co-creators Ryan Sohmer and Lar DeSouza.
  • Scans_Daily brings us some Simpsons Christmas cheer via the Bartman Christmas Special.
  • DC Editor Matt Idelson discusses all things Superman over at the DCU Blog.
  • Every Day Is Like Wednesday takes a closer look at the Battle For The Cowl mini-event and all it’s spinoffs.
  • Over at the TCJ read a dialogue between Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons and All Star Superman illustrator Frank Quitely.
  • Matt Brady let’s you know what’s coming out this week.
  • One of my favourite creators: James Turner (Rex Libris, War Lord of IO) talks comics with Tim.
