Who knew you had so much in common with Captain America? Talking to Box Office Magazine, director Joe Johnston dropped some knowledge about the plot of the Captain America movie. Yeah, we sort of suspected it was a period film, but did you know that Captain America goes AWOL? It’s all part of how Cap [...]

The Beat just broke the news of Marvel’s newest line: Girl Comic.
In light of some of the scathing commentary regarding the anti-female vibe that seems to permeate the Marvel titles, it seems funny that Marvel would come out with this comic… but hey, any comic that features (among others) Kathryn Immonen, Marjorie Liu, Louise Simonson, [...]

This is all the e-mail said:
“THERE IS CHAOS IN THE UNDERWORLD.”
Then this image from Fantastic Four #575.
Jonathan Hickman and Dale Eaglesham’s Fantastic Four run has – thus far – been incredibly solid. When you’ve got a title like FF that – essentially – peaked with it’s initial run by it’s creators, since then most of [...]

Yesterday we reported it.. we even guessed that it was going to be a ROM relaunch.. boy we were ever wrong. Though, not as wrong as this guy. So, it appears that rising star of comics and the man Brian Michael Bendis called “the next Alan Moore” Jonathan Hickman is going to give us a [...]

I’m sure all of you were sitting patiently curiously awaiting to find out more about marvel’s hottest new character, the Frank Cho drawn Hitman Monkey.
Well, as of 12:33 the world of comics as we know it changed. Sure there have been lots of great comic book apes; Rex Mantooth, Mallah, Gorilla Grodd and Gorilla Man [...]

And the Siege promotions just keep a coming.
Marvel has been hyping up their ‘mini’ event Siege for the last month now. It’s the culmination of all the plots and themes that have been present in Dark Reign and this is the final act. (I suppose the The List was the rising action, but all it [...]

We had it up before in a grainy you-tube version, now take a gander at it in glorious hi-res. Marvel is going full steam ahead with it’s promotion campaign for The Siege – Bendis’ ‘logical’ next step in the overrall Dark Reign storyline.
While I like Bendis a lot – his Daredevil run being high up [...]

So while nothing is definitely known just yet. It seems like we have more to look forward to from the quite-often-really-late-but-it’s-okay-because-his-artwork-is-so-beautiful-that-no-one-really-wants-to-complain Steve McNiven and some british writer named Mark Millar.
While nothing has been announced on this yet – outside of the name (Nemesis) and the creative team – I’m sure it’s not going to stop [...]

I know, you’ve gotten me twice this week, how lucky you are.
To be fair, basically what occurred was the following. I got a message from Pete DeCourcy about discussing some stuff about my column. When I got to Comic Book Daily HQ…well things were a bit odd.
Written everywhere along the walls were the initials MM [...]

It’s pretty cool what you can find on YouTube these days. According to the person who posted it, it is “Marvel’s Secret trailer that was shown to us at the Diamond Retailer Summit in Baltimore tonight.” Not sure how long this will be up or if it’s supposed to be out there yet, so check [...]

Spoiler TV has gotten their hands on a new casting call for the Thor movie, and this one is a touch baffling. Here’s what the Kenneth Branaugh are looking for:
[WARRIORS] A fearless warrior race, where size, strength and ferocity define a member’s rank in both the social and military hierarchy. Warriors born in this [...]

This little gem comes from WindWak3r’s Deviant art pic and to be honest it’s an absolutely beautiful picture though it’s a pretty horrific thought. I can’t imagine anyone who’s actually a Carnage fan (outside of Ultimate Carnage) – but this is the most interesting thing that they could do with the character, and if there’s [...]

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of what Dale Eaglesham and Jonathan Hickman are doing with the Fantastic Four – specifically with Reed Richards. Taking Reed away from the troubled distant (possibly asperger) Reed and making him more of a Tom Strong type pulp science hero is one of the most inspired ideas among [...]
