Meet our contributors:

Andrew Ardizzi is the lamest person you’ll ever meet. Maybe. After reading them as a young lad, he started reading comics again at the ripe old age of 20. With interests ranging from Green Lantern to Daredevil and most everything in between that isn’t atrocious, he’s developed a real love for comics.  A proponent of various geekdoms, he’s also a graduate of political science and is currently taking journalism at Humber College. You can follow his blog at Come gather ’round people wherever you roam.

Ed Campbell spends most of his free time reading comic books, playing video games, watching 80′s television shows and collecting G.I. Joe.  While trying to complete his original Marvel G.I. Joe series, he is trying to broaden his comic collecting experience by reading other titles.  At one time he wanted to become an artist or writer in the comic book industry, but complete lack of talent prevented that from happening.  If you like his writing, you can read more at Trust Me I Know What I’m Doing.

Brent Chittenden is a Canadian freelance writer who also happens to write humorous things for Bite TV’s blog. If you have need of his services you can reach him at bcchittenden@gmail.com, twitter at @BCNerdhole and his podcast Two Assholes Talking About Nerd Stuff. Brent didn’t contribute to this so it’s just a rehash from his articles.

Peter DeCourcy can’t imagine his life without comic books. A film school drop out, he failed upwards and is now senior editor of Comic Book Daily and manager of Blue Beetle Comics in Barrie, Ontario. He wrote for the now defunct Simple Art of Crime and TUMBLs at Grown Up Boy Detective. He’s a member of the Joe Shuster Nomination Committee and has recently started working on a quasi-autobiographical comic book series he hopes release late next year. He considers Scott VanderPloeg to be the Matt Damon to his Ben Affleck.

David Diep is a comic book and World of Warcraft addict. Raised on a steady stream of Archie and Asterix comics, he now spends as much time as possible being surrounded by comic books. Nowadays, he reads every single type of comic book or manga he can get his hands on. When he’s not reading comics books, he’s scouring the internet for information about them or organizing his collection.

Walter Durajlija is a man of many talents, a renaissance man if you will. He is the proud owner and operator of Big B Comics, which in 2008 won the Harry Kremer Award for best Comic Book Store in Canada. His vast, encyclopedic knowledge of graded comic books have made him a guru in the industry and he is an advisor to the Overstreet Price Guide. He uses Comic Book Daily to share his wealth of knowledge with the masses, either via his columns or podcast. A comic book fan for life thanks to Conan the Barbarian and cheesy romance books, Walt also enjoys Balkan humour, a fine cognac, and taking on too many projects at once.

Anthony Falcone is a freelance writer and archaeologist of the impossible. A comic book fan thanks to Spider-Man and Groo, he devotes most of his time on this site ensuring that the industry doesn’t try to put one over on us. In addition to writing the greatest blog ever, Anthony also produces the Comic Culture radio show, which is, coincidentally, also the greatest ever.

Jill Nagel is an aspiring writer and has recently completed the Book Publishing Program at Ryerson University.  Jill has been reading comics most of her life and is a devoted X-Men fan (No matter what they’ve put us through).  When not reading comics, she can be found roaming the street of Toronto, obsessing over various fandoms, and blogging at Nerd Vortex.

When he was a young lad Chris Owen found issues of Richie Rich comics that originally belonged to his sister and became a fan of comics ever since. Although his early love of the Harvey character soon grew into a love of superheros, especially Spider-Man and Captain America. Chris started working in comics retail around 1980 and has had only a few years of not being involved in some fashion ever since. He teaches Sequential Art History for Mohawk College, is an executive on the Joe Shuster Awards Committee and has a weekly radio show called Comic Culture on CFMU 93.3 FM. When he isn’t busy with those endeavors, he likes to collect original artwork, especially ones involving Power Girl.

Shelley Smarz is a life-time comic book fan and a comic book scholar. She’s currently finishing her MBA at Ryerson University in Toronto, ON. She’s excited that she can add “business geek” to her geek répertoire.  Unfortunately Shelley hasn’t provided a biography for this space so it’s random bits.

Scott VanderPloeg is a husband and father who spends his days managing an IT infrastructure and the rest of his time cooking, eating and reading.  A comics devotee since picking up G.I. Joe #1 at a convenience store in 1980, he’s never been able to land a job at a comics store.  After finishing his silver age runs of Avengers and Strange Tales Scott started collecting original art.  He’s stopped picking up weekly comics and is focused on hardcovers and European comics.  Currently editor-in-chief of Comic Book Daily.
