The Christmas Gift That Doesn't Come Until March

So, advance solicits are out right now and Comic Book Resources has a shot of something that makes my heart jump:

Doop was created by Peter Milligan and Mike Allred during their phenomenol X-Force/X-Statik run. For those not in the know Milligan and Allred basically took some of the tropes of Morrison’s New X-Men run: the idea of Mutant Culture becoming mainstream, and bringing it to the logical next step: Mutant Strike Forces as Reality Show Superstars. There were many characters of that run who were pretty great – but the idea of Doop was just a wonderful addition.

Doop is a green, floating spheroid creature of unknown origins who spoke in a “language” all his own (represented in text by a special font). Although Doop has no obvious physical sexual characteristics he is almost always referred to as male. He’s the life of the party, always cracking jokes – but is not afraid to get his hands dirty.

Nation X #4 doesn’t come out ’til March, but just think of it as an unopened Christmas present lost in the back of the closet..
