Auction Highlights #29

A featured auction has just ended on ComicLink. Let’s have a look at some of the things that went down.

Detective Comics #35, DC Comics, (1/40)

Graded by CGC at 3.0 with Cream to Off White sold on ComicLink for $11,027.00 on March 15th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 3.0 is $2,300.00. Almost 5 times guide for a low grade comic! This is one powerful book that doesn’t come to market too often. The seller did well.

Amazing Fantasy #15, Marvel Comics (8/62)

Graded by CGC at 8.0 with Off White pages sold for $57,777.00 on ComicLink on March 16th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 8.0 is $21,000.00. A solid price. The value for the grade has strongly been reinforced with this sale. A good deal for both buyer and seller.

Joe Palooka #23, Harvey Publications (8/48)

Graded by CGC at 9.4 with Cream to Off White pages sold for $96.00 on ComicLink on March 15th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 9.2 is $95.00. Beautiful file copy of one of the most popular characters of the era and it gets only $1 above 9.2 guide price? Buyer got a great deal.

True Life Secrets #23, Charlton Comics (11-12/54)

Graded by CGC at 7.0 with Cream to Off White pages sold on ComicLink for $120.00 on March 15th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 7.0 is $28.00. The cover sells this book! Even at over 4 times guide this is still a good pick up for the buyer because this book really is hard to pick up in a solid grade.

Don Winslow of the Navy, Fawcett Pub. (5/48)

Graded by CGC at 9.2 with Cream to Off White pages sold on ComicLink for $34.00 on March 15th. Overstreet price guide value for this comic at 9.2 is $120.00. Beware the Ides of March if you are selling high grade Pedigree copies of Don Winslow. A very disappointing result and an obvious steal for the buyer.

There you go! I hope this sheds some light on the current market.
