Upcoming Comic Book Movies of 2013

If you are both a movie fan and comic book fan like myself, this is an amazing time of year for you. There is a great line up of comic themed movies coming out, and I as sit on my computer and excitedly watch trailer after trailer of comic themed movies, I thought I would share my excitement with the Comic Book Daily readers.

Iron Man 3

This all started with the fact that Iron Man 3 is coming out this Friday (May 3, 2013). I’m not sure how I feel about this movie yet, though I do love me some Robert Downey Jr. I am trying to keep an open mind and am hoping it ends up being like Indiana Jones. 1 & 3 rocked!

Kick-Ass 2

No official date for this release yet besides 2013. I am so excited for this movie! I love the crass and roughness the last movie had and I expect no less from the sequel. Warning with the trailer below, it is the Red-Band trailer so there are a lot of swears.

Thor 2

Mmmm Chris Hemsworth……oh sorry, let me wipe up that drool.

As much as Mr. Hemsworth is a hottie I am not very excited to see this movie. With the return of Natalie Portman (who I normally love in movies), I am praying that these two main characters learned to build some chemistry before they start shooting. That said the other characters from the previous movie all worked amazing together, plus Thor had the most diverse cast out of all the Marvel movies in the Avengers series.

Man of Steel

Here it is kids, another attempt at a Superman movie. Frankly, I think I will skip this one. I have no interest in them anymore, but for you Superman fans make sure you check out the trailer below!

The Wolverine

I have never seen Jackman so jacked! It’s amazing. Though the storyline seems lackluster, and recently everyone I have talk to about it seems confused by the X-Men/Wolverine Universe timeline, I am still excited to see it. Wolverine is my one true love, he is why I love comics, so I will happily go watch Hugh Jackman punch things in an extremely tight tank top. Oh, sorry I am drooling again.

R.E.D 2

I am embarrassed to say that I haven’t seen the last movie, and I haven’t read the comic, and I am a self-proclaimed action movie fan! I am however going to watch the first movie right before I go and see the sequel. If I am going to experience RED it might as well be all at once.

Sin City A Dame to Kill For

Not too much information has been released, and sadly there is not trailer. Initial release date is October 2, 2013 and this one is going to be good!

I am excited for Thor 2. I still think that Portman and Hemsworth had on screen chemistry. I cling onto the hope that someday… someday Thor 3 will introduce Beta Ray Bill to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But I wish Beta Ray Bill was in everything.

It’s funny. I am more excited for RED2 than Man of Steel. I have had issues with rebooting Superman. I consider Christopher Reeve’s movies classics and I just can’t accept rebooting or remaking the franchise.

I hope Man of Steel does well, but it’s got so much to make up for and so much baggage as a movie franchise it might be hard.

I’m most excited for Thor. Bring on LOKI!

I have received very good feedback from the guys working on Man of Steel in Vancouver and they say this is unlike any Superman film ever seen before. I just hope that Warner takes this seriously not like they did with Green Lantern.
With all these titles it is hard not to get excited. Plus we get to look forward to Rocket Racoon next year.
It is a great time to be a geek.

Beta Ray could easily be introduced in the Guardians film or teased at the end of it.
