Today(ish) in Twitter – Friday, February 12th, 2009

twitterToday(ish) in Twitter is a regular column wherein our staff troll through the best of the 140 letter updates of the comic book world. ComicBookDaily is not responsible for the content of these tweets, but we will admit to laughing our collective bums off at some of them.

Paul Tobin Hey @ChrisSamnee! Can I just tell you how pleased I am that your Mary Marvel drawing had a sulking anthropomorphic super-rat?

Ande Parks My friend and Union Station collaborator Eduardo Barretto is not well. Keep him and his family in your thoughts. http://is.gd/8fprl

Chris Ryall I really hope Eduardo Barreto can make a recovery and get back drawing. Great artist and a helluva guy, too. http://tinyurl.com/ydhn99h

Chip Zdarsky RT @HeyOscarWilde Illustrated Celebrity Tweets http://tweetmuseum.com #waitingforsomeonetotacklechipzdarskys

Tom Peyer Aaaaand further terrible cartoons about how the existence of snow disproves global warming: http://is.gd/8fpPZ

Eric Trautmann So, that’s the good news for the month: my cat was in a coma, but didn’t die. Which should provide a good overview of 2010 thus far.

Bryan Lee O’Malley i want parental controls on my computer that filter out all mentions of superheroes, ever

Ryan Kelly Look at this here. A Funrama update with a very rare peak at a Funrama comic panel I drew at 11 years old. http://funrama.tumblr.com/

Dan Slott

Gearing up for the next Spidey script! Got all my notes in front of me. And cue-ing up the DVD player for DUCK SOUP. Yes, I said DUCK SOUP something you need to get about Spidey, there’s a part of him that is SO Groucho Marx, just like Bugs Bunny or Hawkeye (from M.A.S.H.) owe part of their make up to Groucho, so too does Spidey. That’s at the core of his quips. Really. And DUCK SOUP has my favorite Groucho bits especially the mirror sequence (though there’s no quipping in it). To me, after the bit where Indy shoots the swordsman in RAIDERS, the mirror sequence in DS is the funniest scene in ANY movie. If you’ve never seen it B4, here U go: http://bit.ly/Kj52t

Rick Remender RT @mtvsplashpage: Paul Giamatti Hopes ‘The Goon’ Movie Moves Forward, Met With David Fincher For Comic-Con Teaser http://bit.ly/9OBEYG

Kate Beaton http://twitpic.com/12t0et – Hitler’s face in the second picture: best propaganda poster ever

Ed Brubaker I have picked up almost two thousand new followers this week.

Andy Diggle valentines Day is hereby cancelled! RT @thevowel: There’s a new update for Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox LIVE.

Ramon Perez When things collide… http://su.pr/1jfldc #kukuburi

Skottie Young Does anyone know if there plans for transmetropolitan hardcover collections? Or do they exist already?

Ed Brubaker http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=24827 Man these all black costumes were a GREAT idea.

Kate Beaton http://twitpic.com/12ssi8 – Capone valentines for your Dollface

Dan Mcdaid Absolutely loving the #ifiwastharg stuff.I even prefer the maligned 90s iteration of 2000AD to its current incarnation. At least it was funny

Hope Larson Brilliant! RT @comicsalliance: Cerebus Valentines for That Special Void in Your Life http://bit.ly/bspYyM I’ve met Dave Sim a couple of times, and he’s one of the few people I’ve met in comics who scares the living shit out of me. When you shake his hand you can feel the hate coming off him in waves.

Chris Samnee Looks like I’m getting a bunch of grey hairs:/ If I shave my head does that mean I have to start writing comics instead?

CB Cebulski Cool Avengers art & teasers, Dave Finch’s first DC cover, lots of juicy gossip on the rumor mills… it’s been a good week for comic buzz!

Time Lost Batman go throw that tea, Boston!! And know that in just a few hundred years, you’ll inspire a bunch of assholes to make racist picket signs.

Jamie McKelvie David Bowie -> M.I.A. This is my musical progression today as I draw Loki being all tricksy and shit.
