Happy Guy Fawkes Day!

Happy Guy Fawkes Day!

What is it?

Well it is the day to commemorate the Gunpowder Plot that happened in 1605.  On that day Guy Fawkes and a group of other conspirators tried to assassinate the King of England.

What does this mean to comic book fans?

Alan Moore wrote a classic comic book called V for Vendetta, where our hero V, wears a Guy Fawkes mask. It is a story about government corruption and an “anarchist” trying to topple the government.

To celebrate Guy Fawkes day, head out to your local comic book shop, grab a copy of V for Vendetta, and read it to celebrate the day. You can also grab the Blu-Ray of V for Vendetta that came out in 2006 starring Hugo Weaving, Natalie Portman and John Hurt.

“Remember, remember the Fifth of November,

The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,

I know of no reason

Why the Gunpowder Treason

Should ever be forgot.”
