I recently discovered a new YouTube channel that I enjoy watching. A local guy (from Ontario) who enjoys hanging out in Algonquin Park:

He has about 350k subs, and according to Social Blade, based on their understanding of YouTube’s reward structure, he’s earning $766 to $12,300k a month. Or about $9,200 to $147,000 annually… US. A pretty wide spread but not too shabby even at the low end… for doing what he enjoys doing.
350k subscribers seems achievable to me, as long as the uploads are regular and it’s supported by further efforts on Facebook, Twitter… etc. and he basically started out as just one guy. Currently, there’s 5 of us, 6 if you include Mr. Owen. Yes, there’s lots of competition on YouTube but the beauty of the web is the democratization of media.
