Conan in August! But with so little to see in the teaser it’s hard to tell whether or not the movie will be any good. Fans of the character will always compare it to the Arnold films while people new to the franchise might have no context to get them excited. There were so many moments in the first films that were “so bad it’s good” that it’s going to be tough to move away from the camp and make Conan as badass as he is in the original Howard novels and appeal to a mass market. Besides, how many youngsters out there even know who Conan is.
Moments that were awesome in the previous films:
– Conan punching out a camel
– Conan getting it on with a witch only to pick her up and toss her into a fire
– All of the overacting
Overacting? There was no overacting. It was just that Arnold had mostly done live theatre before that and the acting style is different. He owed that role.
I just hope this new guy uses a thick Austrian accent – to add some authenticity.
