The latest edition of the 80's Toy Expo was May 4th/2014 at the Delta Meadowvale in Mississauga. The show featured new and vintage toys that represent everything that was "rad" and "tubular" about the 80's.
Superheroes come from all walks of life. There are millionaires and billionaires. There are scientists, geniuses and really smart people. There are soldiers, spies and former bad-asses who walk the thin line between right and wrong. There are also angst filled teenagers, and people with emerging powers trying to find the balance between being a hero and a normal person. But there is only one who I immediately think of who is a farmer... and that is Superman.
April 19th/2014 was the inaugural GTA Comic Con at the Sheraton Hotel in Toronto. The show was organized and presented by RPG Events, who also organizes the Canadian ToyCon and Burlington Toy Show. This was their first foray into being a straight comic book convention, with of course, attractions for all fans of comics, toys, collectibles and general "nerdery".
This past weekend Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered in theatres. I have been anxiously waiting for this movie, not only because it is the next installment into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but because Captain America is one of my…
Here on Comic Book Daily, we've talked about stuff. We've talked about selling your stuff. We've talked about storing your stuff. We've talked about displaying your stuff. But there's one thing we haven't talked about (at length anyways...), buying your stuff again.
Did you catch Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe on TV last week? In case you missed it, let me recap very quickly. It was essentially a State-of-the-Union address from Marvel Studios, explaining how the Marvel Cinematic Universe came to be, how we got to today, and where it is going into the future. All 3 waves of Marvel films were summarized, as well as the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show and the Marvel One-Shots (the special features on the Marvel Blu-Rays).
It was exceptional television. Except for one thing...
Thanks to Vince McMahon and the WWE, the face of television has changed forever. This month the WWE Network is going live, and it will revolutionize television as we know it. The WWE is offering all of their programming, plus…
When it comes to action figures, there are popular figures and there are "highly sought after figures". And most times, the popular figures are not the ones that die-hard collector's want. We want the hard to find and obscure characters.
This year on February 9th, the Vaughan Winterfest celebrated its 25th anniversary. It is a great event that helps break up the monotony of a long winter, especially with the abundance of snow and cold temperatures we've had this year.
January 26/2014 was the latest Ontario Collectors Con held at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel and Conference Centre in Mississauga. The show features vendors selling a wide variety of toys from rare collectibles to vintage and modern toys. The OCC also featured two special guests.
This edition of the Burlington Toy Show returned to its roots and was a "straight-up" toy show. Previous editions of the Burlington Toy Show have had celebrities and special guests, but this show was all about the toys.
When it comes to comic book movie blockbusters, do you try to find all the news and secrets about the movie before it's released? Or do you want to be completely surprised by the outcome?
If you want to be surprised, you better avoid the toy aisle at your local toy store.
We all know about the show Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It is the show that carries on from the Avengers movie starring Agent Phil Coulson (portrayed by Clark Gregg), as he leads a secret team investigating events around the globe. It premiered as a massive hit. Over 17 million viewers watched in the US alone. From there the ratings have dropped, but the numbers are still impressive.
Those millions and millions of viewers wanted to know one thing, how did Agent Coulson come back from the dead?
There are only a mere few days left of 2013. This is the time of year where we reflect and reminisce on the year and look forward to new beginnings. 2013 has had many highs and lows or hits and misses. Here are my choices.
Christmas is just a few short days away. It's time to slow down, kick back and enjoy the holidays, that is of course if you've finished all your shopping. If you haven't... I feel for ya!
Leading up to Christmas, I like to take it easy with a nice whiskey, some homemade caramel corn and a movie. In our house we have our family favourites like "A Christmas Story" and "Jingle All The Way"... shut up... that movie is awesome.
Christmas is approaching fast, and at this time of year there are lots of things to get done. There are presents to buy. Family to visit. Christmas baking to be done… and eaten. This time of year also brings back…
